Terms of service
Written to be read. If anything here is unclear, ask us before relying on your reading of it.
What the service is
BidBenchmark publishes statistics computed from public federal award records, and provides tools — search, alerts, exports, and solicitation analysis — built on those records. Published benchmarks are free to read; some tools require an account and some require a paid plan.
What the numbers are, and are not
Benchmarks describe what has been awarded before. They are historical statistics, not quotes, predictions, or recommendations. Nothing on this site is legal, accounting, or pricing advice, and no figure here is a substitute for your own judgment about your own bid.
We work hard to compute the numbers correctly and to say so when the data is thin, but the underlying records are maintained by their government sources and can contain errors we inherit. Where a figure matters to you, follow its citation and read the source record.
Your account
Keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity under your account. Accounts belong to organizations; an owner or admin of your organization controls its plan and members.
Paid plans and billing
Paid plans bill monthly through Stripe and can be cancelled from the billing page at any time; access continues to the end of the paid period. Plan limits — searches, exports, analyses — are enforced as described on the pricing page.
Acceptable use
Don't attempt to break, overload, or probe the service; don't resell or republish our computed statistics wholesale as a competing dataset; and don't use automated scraping in place of the API. Exports and API responses are limited to data we are permitted to redistribute — source records remain United States Government works.
Liability
The service is provided as-is. To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim arising out of your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, account holders will be told by email before the change takes effect. Continued use after that notice is acceptance of the new terms.
