Request for Quotes: Purchase of Professional Instruments (Brand-Name), Accessories, and Equipment for 248th AB PRARNG This is a request for quotations for commercial products or commercial services prepared in accordance with FAR Part 12.201-1, Simplified Procedures for Commercial Items. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Quotations are being requested, and a separate written solicitation will not be issued. The Government intends to issue a Request for Quotation for the purchase of professional musical instruments, digital audio equipment, and related accessories for the 248th Army Band of the Puerto Rico Army National Guard (PRARNG). Brand Name Requirement & Justification: This acquisition contains both "Brand Name Only" and "Brand Name or Equal" items. The specified brand-name items (e.g., Yamaha, Selmer Paris, Eastman, Kawai, Shure) are essential to the Government's requirement to ensure acoustic blending, intonation stability, and digital interoperability. The 248th Army Band's live-sound infrastructure operates on a closed, proprietary digital ecosystem (Audinate Dante/AES67). Procuring alternative brands would introduce unacceptable systemic latency, cause total harmonic distortion, and require a substantial duplication of cost to the Government to replace an entire infrastructure of otherwise serviceable equipment. Furthermore, specific instrument brands are required to match existing ensemble sections for tonal blend, harmonic profile, and intonation tendencies, which is critical for a professional military musical performing unit.
