The Clinical Center (CC) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) requires two pediatric cribs to meet the needs of the soon to be established Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). � Product Service Code: 6515 � Medical Instruments, Equipment, and Supplies � NAICS Code: 339112 � Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing � Place of Performance: Bethesda, MD 20892 USA POTS: 26-008626 Description: This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to award a fixed price purchase order to Stryker Sales LLC, located at 5900 Optical CT, San Jose, CA 95138, on a firm fixed price sole source award basis to provide pediatric cribs to the National Institutes of Health. Stryker�s brand recognition and ability to standardize products across a hospital's entire portfolio. The CC entire medical surgical beds, bed integration with the CC�s patient call and the CC�s wheelchair fleet are Stryker�s products. In addition, Stryker has many products in the OR for room cleaning to bone saws. These products are well maintained by Stryker. The below requirements for a pediatric crib can only be met by Stryker. o 400 lb. capacity (parent and child can both be in the same crib) o 360-degree patient access for caregivers. Unobstructive access to patient from all corners o Silent access doors and red adult-only activation points for safety o Scale weight capacity is from 4 to 100 lbs. o Counterbalance system on siderail for easy raising and lowering o Manually operated pneumatic-assist backrest o Access doors at all four corners o Retractable fifth-wheel steering o Central-locking brake system o Hands-free Trendelenburg and reverse Trendelenburg o Overall length and width not to exceed � No accessory supports 65.5� x 37� (166 x 94 cm), with accessory supports 72.25� x 37.5� (184 x 95 cm) Sole Source Impact: o Incompatibility with the current equipment and supplies o Inconsistent equipment, features, supplies and operations will prevent researchers to follow NIH Protocols. Protocol based care requires absolute consistency and reproducibility in equipment and processes. If any other equipment is considered, the CC will incur risks o Consistency of applications within the Clinical Center could pose a patient safety issue. Inconsistency of applications includes a huge increase in labor, time and cost for building new IT applications and cyber-security reviews and management o Jeopardizes NIH CC safe practice and culture of Standardization of equipment, supplies, user training, maintenance and contract management o Develop new policy and procedures for implementation, including equipment cleaning and recall/alerts management o Review the long-term risk of a possible new source of infection This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 � Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstance of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. Contracts awarded using FAR Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6-Competition Requirements. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Comments to this announcement, referencing this posting number, may be submitted to the NIH, Clinical Center, Office of Purchasing and Contracts, prior to the closing date specified in this announcement, to the attention of Kristin Nagashima, Contract Specialist via email to Kristin.nagashima@nih.gov by September 1, 2026 at 10am EST.
