STATEMENT OF WORK 1.0 GENERAL SCOPE The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) has a requirement for new window treatments to replace all window treatments in Building 24 RRTP on the 1st and 2nd floors. New window treatments / dual solar shades for patient bedrooms and single solar shades for all other areas. The old window treatments will be removed by vendor and replaced with new in Building 24 RRTP program on the 1st and 2nd floors. This requirement includes the vendor providing window treatment, professional installation, and removal of old window treatments (disposal off site). The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, installation, transportation, clean-up and supervision necessary to satisfy the needs of each ordering activity. The installer(s) must check in at Building 21 engineering office and get badges. The installers must notify Interior Designer Tia Manring once on station. Building 24 is an occupied patient area. The floors are locked and installers will need to be let in by nursing staff. All tools must be secured at all times. We will coordinate a staging area for materials and tools with the nursing staff prior to starting the installation. All window treatments are to be delivered/installed to location: Chillicothe VA Medical Center 17273 State Route 104 Chillicothe, Ohio 45601 Buildings 24 2.0 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS The contractor shall provide and be responsible for technical assistance, development and generation for final specifications. Duty hours will be 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Government recognized federal holidays are: New Year s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If the holiday falls on Sunday, it is observed on Monday. Building 24 can be accessed at ground level entrance. Once inside the buildings, the installers will have access to an elevator. The contractor shall: Coordinate and provide project management of all products and services to manage, design, order, ship, deliver, remove old window treatments, and install new Window Treatments from the manufacturer until final acceptance by Tia Manring, VA Interior Designer, COR. Provide an on-site staff supervisor with OSHA 10 certification. Remove existing Window Treatments and dispose of them off site. Project phasing and scheduling requirements to include planning, manufacturing, project management, installation and clean-up of all packing material and debris from the window treatment installation. Provide maintenance manuals for all products specified. The contractor shall be responsible for cleaning up all packing/shipping materials and disposing of them and shall clean area prior to final walk-through with the VA Interior Designer. 3.0 PRODUCT General All finished surfaces shall be free of scratches, mars, dents, or blemishes, and withstand staining, flaking, cracking, or loss of adhesion. Window treatments shall have smooth finishes with no hazardous projections, sharp corners, or detail, which can be hazardous and cause personal injury or damage to clothing. Salient Characteristics Products specified are not brand name justifications. They are a point of reference for quality and style. Equal products can be submitted. All equal products submitted will be reviewed by the VA Interior Designer. Product submittals should be required to clearly indicate compliant material specifications for all parts of the assembly. Delivery (freight) to building and/or project location/Window Treatment Assembly/installation/removal of trash must be included in the pricing for this project. All product specifications must be submitted as well as detailed drawings. All products must be made in America. PRODUCTS Draper Techmatic Roller Shades (or equivalent/ equal product). A manually operated window roller shade. This shade features a light duty clutch that never needs adjusting. Technical Specifications: CHILD SAFETY NOTICE: To comply with ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2022, this product ships with a Draper-designed Tensioned Hold-Down Device attached to the bead chain. Incorrect installation partially disables the product. Maximum shade width is approximately - 72" (183 cm), depending on fabric selection. Bead chain clutch operator mounted right- (standard) or left-hand operation. Stainless steel bead chain (standard). Polyester chains are available in white, black, brown, grey, or ivory at no extra charge. Mounting brackets (standard). Optional headbox with closure. Hardware finishes include clear anodized (standard), black, white, ivory, or bronze, with custom powder coat colors available. Varied bar options are available. Universal mounting brackets (inside, outside, or ceiling mounted). Optional 2 ¼ (57 mm) universal brackets available. Choose from a wide range of fabric colors, textures, and opacities or customize with graphics, patterns, or color matching. Product designed for interior use. All window coverings in patient bedrooms must be dual solar shades.
