THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION (FAA) HAS A REQUIREMENT FOR THE ACQUISITION AND LIFE CYCLE IN-SERVICE SUPPORT OF INTERIOR ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTION EQUIPMENT, SUCH AS PARALLEL SWITCHGEAR, SWITCHGEAR, SWITCHBOARDS, MOTOR CONTROL CENTER, TRANSFORMERS, PANEL BOARDS, AND ELECTRICAL POWER MONITORING AND CONTROL SYSTEMS. THIS IS REFERRED TO AS ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTION EQUIPMENT (EDE) THROUGH THIS STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW). THE FAA REQUIRES ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTION EQUIPMENT (EDE), TECHNICAL SUPPORT SERVICES, LOGISTICS SUPPORT, TRAINING, AND QUALITY CONTROL FOR THE EDE BEING ACQUIRED. THE CONTRACTOR MUST HAVE EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE IN DESIGNING, ASSEMBLING, TESTING, AND INSTALLING POWER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS IN FACILITIES OF SIMILAR COMPLEXITY AND CRITICALITY AS THOSE FOUND ACROSS THE NATIONAL AIRSPACE SYSTEM (NAS). THE CONTRACTOR MUST POSSESS IN-HOUSE ACCESS TO CORE TECHNICAL INFORMATION AND BE ABLE TO TROUBLESHOOT, FAULT ISOLATE AND PERFORM FAILURE ANALYSIS OF ITS EQUIPMENT, AND PROVIDE MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR TRAINING FOR FAA TECHNICIANS.
